Multi-Agent UAV Platform

A marine calls in the swarm UAV Swarm in action

This project involved the development of a multi-agent UAV platform for use with custom mission management software developed by Perceptronics Solutions Inc. as part of Army REP 2018. The UAV swarm was comprised of Intel Aero drones configured with downwards facing cameras that stream imagery back to a central interface where it is stitched together and draped over a terrain map. The drones communicated with each other and the central command and control interface via a distributed WiFi network. We deployed the system at the Marine Corps' manned-unmanned teaming limited operational assessment conducted at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (MUTC) in Indiana where marines operated the swarm and utilized its capabilites to great effect in various scenarios. This short animation shows the swarm in coordinated motion during the exercises.
